Count measures, not their values
The inputs are counts from your fixed reporting inventory. They are not sales, visits or percentages. Each required measure belongs in exactly one of four groups: current and reviewed; available only for an older period; missing a usable value; or current but unchecked. If a current value exists but has not been reviewed, put it in unchecked even if an older value is also available.
Current-reviewed requires the agreed complete period, matching definition and a documented review of source processing limits. A downloaded file is not automatically ready. Zero can be a valid reviewed measurement. Missing, suppressed, incompatible or still unavailable figures are not zero.
Transparent formulas
Total = current + stale + missing + unchecked. Ready coverage = current ÷ total × 100. Comparable coverage = comparable current-reviewed measures ÷ total × 100. Unready = stale + missing + unchecked. Comparable is a subset of current, not another group added to the total. Unready decision measures are a subset of unready.
A zero total returns undefined percentages rather than 0% or 100%. Any unready measure required for the decision holds that decision. With no such blockers, an incomplete report still needs a human to choose which observations can be shared. Complete coverage still requires narrative approval.
Try the synthetic example
6 current + 2 stale + 1 missing + 1 unchecked = 10 measures. Four are comparable and one unready measure is needed for the decision. Results: 60% ready, 40% comparable, four unready, and the affected decision held. Change current to zero and comparable to zero to see a fully unready inventory. Use the worksheet to record the rows behind the counts.
What the percentages cannot tell you
This is descriptive inventory arithmetic, not a model of accuracy, representativeness, revenue coverage or confidence. The calculator cannot verify your exports or decide which inputs matter. A convenient denominator must never replace a business judgment. The tool runs in your browser and makes no paid model call. Copy or download the assumptions with the results so the next reader sees those limits.
Sources and limits
Checked 1 November 2026: Google Analytics data freshness explains processing delays and changing figures. Shopify Analytics documentation distinguishes dashboard summaries, detailed reports and access permissions. Neither source endorses this original inventory method. Examples are synthetic; no customer results, statistical confidence or automatic report approval are claimed.
