Email Click Recipient Reconciliation Calculator

Compare raw, explicitly unflagged and unresolved-inclusive click rates using disjoint recipient counts. Keep mixed bot/unflagged recipients and expose definition sensitivity.

Prepare five anonymous counts

Use a single send, delivered-recipient roster and settled click window. Delivered is the unique recipient denominator. The other inputs are mutually exclusive clicked-recipient buckets: at least one unflagged click and no flagged click; both types; all clicks flagged; no unflagged click and at least one unknown flag. A missing flag alongside a true flag belongs in unresolved. A missing flag alongside a false flag remains in one of the retained buckets. Do not enter email addresses or click-event totals.

Formula and scope

Write D for delivered, U for unflagged/no-flagged, M for mixed, B for all-flagged and X for unresolved. Observed clicked recipients R=U+M+B+X. Retained recipients K=U+M. Raw rate=R/D; explicit-unflagged rate=K/D; inclusive-policy rate=(K+X)/D. The policy gap in percentage points is 100X/D. No observed click=D−R.

All inputs are whole counts between zero and one billion. R must not exceed D. A zero delivered denominator permits only zero buckets and returns undefined rates, represented as null in JSON. Empty values, decimal counts, negatives, nonfinite values and totals exceeding the roster are rejected. The tool checks arithmetic, not whether your export actually meets the scope contract.

Known-answer example

The synthetic default D=10,000, U=240, M=60, B=500, X=100 yields R=900, K=300 and 9,100 with no observed click. Rates are 9%, 3% and 4%, with a one-percentage-point policy gap. Increasing M while decreasing U by the same amount leaves the retained rate unchanged. Increasing X while decreasing B raises the inclusive policy but not the explicit-unflagged rate.

What the result permits

Use the gap to decide whether unresolved classification could matter to the proposed reporting decision. It is not a confidence interval or a bound on the true human click rate: detected false positives and false negatives are not modeled. Neither policy establishes intent, inbox delivery or sales impact. The report carries its scope and method version so a colleague can reproduce it. Editing any input clears the prior result; Reset restores the synthetic example. Copy and download operate locally, without sending counts to an AI service.
