What this compares
The tool compares selected, case-sensitive query parameter names and decoded values in two supplied HTTP(S) URLs. It does not visit them, follow redirects, inspect a tag or send the input as part of its report. Use synthetic or sanitised examples only; do not include personal information, click IDs, credentials, confidential links or sensitive parameter names.
Rules and denominator
Exactly one nonblank start value makes a name expected. An unchanged decoded final value is preserved; an absent final name is missing; a changed value is changed; duplicate or blank final values are ambiguous. A missing or duplicate/blank start value is excluded from the denominator; a name only in the final URL is added. Fragments are not query parameters. Names and values are case-sensitive, and values are not trimmed for equality. Percent = preserved ÷ expected, unavailable when no names are expected.
Synthetic example
Three selected names are expected. Two are preserved and one changes from email to Email, giving 2/3 or 66.7%. This is a share of selected names in one pair of snapshots, not a share of visits. Use the review worksheet to inspect the journey and the optional prompt for a human-checked handoff.
What it cannot establish
A final URL can differ from the URL available when a tag ran. Compare the relevant stage in an approved test, inspect the first differing hop, and consider consent, blockers and other causes. A preserved parameter does not prove a correctly attributed session.
